Who Are You 101

Welcome to "Who Are You 101".  I'm your instructor for this class, Professor Webb.
For today's lecture, we'll be exploring the topic, "Who Is Bailey Webb?"  Modern opinion varies on this controversial issue.  Half the educated world think Bailey shares similarities with Brooklyn, while the other half believes she's Aubrey's twin.  There's even a fringe group who votes Cameron (a large percentage, in fact), but for the purposes of this class, we will explore only the similarities between the females.  So, to begin our exploration, we will start our class with a pre-quiz.

Each set of pictures shows the three different girls.  Guess which one is which to earn your grade.
Answers are below each picture... no cheating!
  1.)

Left: Brooklyn   Middle: Bailey   Right: Aubrey

2.)

3.)

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

It's Valentine's Day and that basically demands a post about love.  So, I'll oblige.

Bailey. Jane.
I LOVE this child.  She is as sweet as they come.  Her little personality is pushing through the cracks and we can't get enough of it.  She's happy and bright-eyed and squishy and enchanting.
She wants to eat everything.  All. the. time.
She's determined to crawl and obsessively grabby and oh, dear goodness,
WE LOVE HER.

Cameron. John.
Cameron keeps us on our toes.  We love his saucy nature.  He is ALL boy, but every once in a long while, he turns into a mama's boy and I soak up every short-lived second.
I love Cameron's boldness and his wild, untamed, spirit.  Even if it gets him in trouble + gives me all the gray hairs.
WE LOVE HIM.

 Aubrey. Lyn.
Aubrey is one-of-a-kind.  She's is a queen in the making.  We love her simple nature and her huge, tender heart.
We love her ability to make things better and every day a little brighter.  She is a sparkling gem, this kid.
WE LOVE HER.

Brooklyn. Nicole.
Brooklyn is a breath of fresh air.  She's a calming presence and a budding little rose.  She is starting to blossom in the most lovely way and becoming even more beautiful - both inside and out.
We lover her desire to do what's right and her motherly abilities.  She is trustworthy and brave and kind-hearted and
 WE LOVE HER.

The Moves Like Jagger

Sometimes you go to the library to return your over-due books and you come home with a dog.
No....?
Just me.....?
Well, that's what happened and in my defense the dog was cold, and crying, and hungry, and scared to death, and collar-less, and we could not just walk away.
Literally.
Cause he kept following us.
And so, we brought him home and adopted him.  And we actually kind of adore him.
He doesn't bark.  He doesn't bite.  He's potty trained.  He doesn't run away.
He's cuddly and mellow and he loves driving the girls to school every morning, but sometimes tries to go with them.  He's eaten 3 binki's, 1 pair of flip flops, and 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich.
He loves Bailey the most and Cameron not the most.  He is fascinated by Bailey's smell and has no personal boundaries when it comes to licking her bald head.  (But she likes it.)  He sleeps between the girls each night (Yes, they share a bed.  By choice.) and loves to bound into my room in the morning (either escaping Cameron or to snuggle - I'm not sure).  He refuses to walk on a leash and usually ends up being carried or riding next to Bailey in the stroller.
He is a total sweetheart and we're glad he's ours.

What Happened in Vegas...

It's been 11 years since Luke had a decent birthday.  Mostly it's his fault because 1.) he was born in January.  2.) he doesn't like them.  3.) I'm lame.
But this year, well, I made up for it.

He had no idea what I had planned cause I can be a pretty sneaky little ninja when I try.
We hit the road and ate snacks + chatted + rocked out to the radio + didn't talk about our kids once. Our first stop was the Pinball Museum, which is called a "museum" so that people will feel dignified while playing games built for children at 11:30 on a Friday.  But it's an arcade.  And it's awesome.

Next, we headed to our {super ghetto} hotel where there was a screaming match happening between an irate girlfriend and her "lying, cheating, sack of dog crap boyfriend".  The cops were there and we could not get into our hotel without walking a direct line right through the middle of their screaming match.  So that was fun.
We found ourselves a little restaurant for lunch and spent the day exploring the strip + hanging out + taking jumping pictures
+ shopping
+ buying last-minute tickets for a {super awesome} magic show + meeting the magician + taking the stupidest-looking picture of all time after waiting for an hour +
trying a caramel malt from Shake Shack {over. rated.} +
not getting shot at the Bellagio.

The next day we took our time getting out the door and basically just ate our way through every restaurant in Vegas.  (Does Denny's count as a restaurant?)
We explored the strip in the daylight hours and pretty much did all the things you do in Vegas.  (Except for going to the strip joints, getting drunk, gambling, smoking, and prostitution.  So, basically, we did none of the things you do in Vegas.)  But we did see a cool sign made out of jelly beans, so I'm calling it a win.
We decided we had better try one of the famous buffets on our last  night in the big city, so we went to the Mirage and ate everything in sight.  Luke even snuck a cookie out in his pocket cause we are just rebels like that.
The thug life chose us.
Obviously.

The BEST part of our whole trip was seeing Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere.
I. Can't. Even.
It was one of the coolest things I've ever done in my entire life and I won't even attempt to explain it.
We made it back to our hotel by 9:30 and had a little victory bed-jumping session in celebration of the coolest weekend of our lives.

Our One-Woman Circus Freak

Ladies and Gentleman!
Kids of all ages!!
Welcome to the Greatest Shooooow on Earrrrrth!
If Bailey were to be given a title by us, it would probably be "Most Likely to Join the Circus."  She is just a little ball of weird lately.
She is our "Bearded Lady" (AKA Toothfull Baby), the "Strongest Baby on Earth" and our acrobatic little contortionist.

Somehow, this kid already has not one, but two teeth.  Our other kids probably got their teeth around 10 months, but not this little freak.  She'll be proudly sporting a full grill by the time she's 6 months.
Bailey if freakishly strong.  The first thing everyone says when they hold her is, "Whoa! She's sooo strong!"  At her 2 week appointment, the Doctor put her on her tummy for a second and Bailey pushed up into a plank and held it for probably 20 seconds.  The Doctor just about fainted.  She has been able to hold her head up since day 1 and I'm sure she's going to slay it in her cross-fit competition that's coming up next week.  :)

Bailey is our little contortionist.  She can somehow wiggle herself into the strangest positions and has even gained the new talent of perfecting the arch-backed stance every time we try to put her in her car seat.  She prefers being on her tummy and will roll herself over from her back within seconds.

She is the sweetest little freak alive and we love her to bits.

Christmas With the Krankies

So, the movie, "Christmas With the Kranks."
I watched it this Christmas season while I was wrapping a million presents by myself at 1am while stuffing my face full of Grandma's fudge.
Don't judge.
The movie is about a couple who decide to skip Christmas and then have to change plans on Christmas Eve and get entirely ready for Christmas in one day, but everything goes wrong and hilarious things happen involving ham and tanning beds and blow-up lawn decorations.

Well, our vacation was essentially "Christmas with the Kranks - Part 2." Except that it wasn't funny and I just wanted it to end.
It started the day we left, with Brooklyn getting a double ear infection and a ruptured eardrum.  Swell.
The next day while driving through the frozen wasteland that is Malad, Idaho our car decided to stop functioning.  The good news was that we got a brand new car out of the deal, so... worse things have happened.
The next day we had our Webb Family Belated Christmas Party, and all sarcasm aside, it was awesome.  We beat a pinata, Grandma's guessing jars (I've won for the last 4 years in a row + Cameron made a cool $16), went swimming, ate delicious food, had our gift exchanges, and loved every second.
The next day we went sledding + house shopping + lunch with the hospital group.  I was reminded of the fact that I am just through-and-through a California Girl.  I was done with the snow in .37 seconds.  The kids, however, not so much.
The next day, we celebrated New Year's by coming to the conclusion that we needed to take Bailey into the hospital.  She'd been wheezing + coughing + had a stuffy nose + diarrhea + throwing up + diaper rash + fever + difficulty breathing.
Poor kid was miserable.  The Doc took a look at her and declared RSV.
Blah.

The next day, I let my Mother-in-Law talk me into doing an aerial class, which was awesome.  Minus the resulting feeling of motion sickness for the rest of the day.  This stuff is no joke.
The next day, our family finally succumbed to the sickness that was rampaging through the ranks.  We woke up to Cameron barfing ALL. OVER. OUR. BED.
And then the floor.
And then the blankets.
And then the bathroom.

Luckily, we were able to escape with the girls for a night of riding a furry hippo all over the mall.

The next night, Brooklyn woke us up by explaining that she had also fallen ill.  And vomited.  ON the toilet.  Not IN the toilet.  Oh, no.  ON the toilet.
Good gracious.

Luckily, we snuck outside for a few hours that day and had just enough energy for a mini-snowball fight before we retired to the couch for an uninterrupted day of lounging and sulking.

The next day, Luke woke up feeling awful.  After passing out on the bathroom floor while throwing up (that's a lovely mental image, no?), he diagnosed himself with AFIB and was admitted to the hospital where everyone started speaking this strange language and using terms like, "supraventricular tachycardia" and "fibrillation" and "arrhythmia."  In English terms, basically... they chest-paddled him to "restart his heart" like you see in the scary movies where the doctor yells "clear" and the body jumps a foot of the bed.  Yea, that.
And the next day we somehow managed to make it home in one solid piece after the strangest, most dramatic, un-vacation-ly experience ever.
