Dr. Seuss Easter - Episode 7

Last year my Easter post was a big, huge, fat fail
But this year, our Dr. Seuss Easter was swell.
It started of early with a hunt through the house
The only thing missing was my super sweet spouse.
He had to work and we missed him so much
But by this point I'm used to just going dutch.
Bailey at first was unsure what to think
What is this round thing?  Is it food?  Is it drink?
But then she discovered the treasures inside
When I took them away she just pouted and cried.

There was even an egg with stuff that was wierd
It was not quite as tasty as it had appeared.

When every egg had been found
And we'd each gained a pound
Ready or not, for church we were bound.

Then our day went from great to a frustrating bad
When 2 hours in traffic left us all feeling sad
But eventually we made it to Grandma Smith's place
Where we had to, of course, just stuff our face!

Then another egg hunt was set up in the back
Where we were joined by animals who like to quack.
We took lots of pictures and loved on our cousins
And opened our eggs - there were dozens and dozens.
Then we headed home just feeling real glad
That we've been so blessed with a Heavenly Dad
And grateful for Jesus on this Easter day
Who saved us in every imaginable way.
Happy Easter
Love,
The Webbs

Give Me a BREAK!

For Spring Break this year, we spent most of it in seat belts and car seats, eating CheezeIt's and drinking Capri Suns somewhere along the I-15.

Our first Road Trip stop was Orem, Utah where I unleashed my children on the unsuspecting campus of UVU.

After a solid 9 hours in the car the day before, we were all a little ready to get out and stretch our legs.
We walked the entirety of the UVU Campus (which is so awesome), and then headed down the road to BYU, home of the Cannon Center (the best college cafeteria ever).  The girls agreed that this was a highlight of the trip.  We ate smoothies + soup + sandwiches + chicken and pasta + waffles + chocolate milk + tacos + chips and salsa + mac and cheese + garlic bread + salad +  cheesecake + ice cream + churros + donuts.
Cameron ate a banana.
That night we put our $11 Pass of All Passes to good use at the fun center and had the place to ourselves.  We played arcade games, went bowling, played a few rounds of lazer tag, rode a ride, went rock climbing and discovered Cameron's future as a CIA Agent.
I finally talked Cameron into climbing the rock wall and he took one step up the wall and then started floating up because he was too light to weigh it down.  Whoops.
The shock of the day was discovering Cameron's hidden talent at the lazer maze.  He was a little pint-sized white ninja in there.  He beat every single one of us and got the high score on the very highest level without touching a single lazer.  Um, what?
Oh, and these two were there.  Are you kidding me with the accidentally matching jammies right now.  Yes you are.
The next day we headed to Salt Lake City for a day of  shopping at the City Creek Mall,
visiting the Church History Museum,
and eating the best meal of my life at Tucano's Brazillian Grill.
Coolest place ever.  The only thing that could have made it better was not having the squirmy, tired, hangry 7 month old on my lap.

The next day we made it to Idaho for a day of laid-back family fun including a family dinner + a movie with Grandma + shopping + house hunting + and much-needed nap time.
The second and last day in Idaho we got a private tour of the BYU-I campus from BYU-I's coolest student + got to check out his swaggy bachelor pad.
We booked it back to Provo that night for a private family tour (we've got friends in high places) of the new Provo City Center temple, which surpassed it's hype.  It was absolutely breathtaking.
From there we ran to the BYU Men's volleyball game where we spent about 1/3 of the time in the bathroom + spilled $6 worth of jelly belly's down the bleacher steps + got ourselves on TV with our (Brooklyn's) mad dance moves + changed a poopy diaper on the bench + got kicked out of our seats + had to take 3 trips out to the car for forgotten items + lost Brooklyn for a good 10 minutes at the end of the game.
But we got Creamery Ice Cream afterwards, so all is well.
And then we went home.

Brace Yo' Self - Part 2

Remember this post from a few years ago?

Well, in honor of the fact that my braces were supposed to come off LAST April, and there is currently no end in sight to the brace saga, even though I recently had the pleasure of having 2 screws drilled into my gums,
I have brought back for a one night only, repeat performance...
BRACE YO' SELF
Part 2

First Up...
Natalie.  AKA Taylor Swift.
Cause braces are EWWWW.

 Second is Lady Gaga.
Except with clothes.
Third and forth are the Brady Girls.

Fifth  is the lovely Amy Adams as a nurse in some movie I have definitley never seen.
(anyone know what move this is...?)

And last, but not least is the flaming hot Gwen Steffani.
Cause hot pink and red and orange always look good together.

It's nice to know I'm STILL in good company.

Keep Climbing

"Keep climbing.
Every person who is at the top of the mountain did not fall there from the sky.  Good things come to those who work for them...

You gain confidence and grow stronger from every experience in which you truly push yourself to do something you didn't think you could do.
If you are standing in that place of in-between, unable or unwilling to go backwards, but too afraid to move forward...
Remember that you can't enjoy the view...
Without being willing to make the climb."  -Marco Angle

The In and THE OUT of Young Women's

This Sunday I was released as the Young Women's President of my ward.
It was the most bitter-sweet Sunday of my life.  I'm grateful for the opportunity I had to be with them for a year and a half, but I realize that it's time to move on.

(I was terrible at taking pictures of all our activities, so these are all from our New Beginnings Activity a few weeks ago.)
I want to remember how much I loved each young woman and how I felt such a responsibility for each one of them.  I thought about them constantly.
I want to remember the fun I had with them and how they brought a smile to my face.
I want to remember the counselors I had who supported me in every crazy idea and through the good times.  And especially the bad.
I want to remember how much my kids loved helping me and being involved in this calling and how they never made me feel bad for trying to give it my all.
I want to remember the difficulties I faced in this calling, because I learned so so much.
I want to remember the way my testimony grew and the way I became converted during this calling.  And the way I learned without a doubt that Heavenly Father loves his daughters.
