Every year at this time, we have a tradition
and now I am back with a brand new edition
Our Dr. Seuss Easter has come back once more
So let's get started with year number FOUR!
It started out right with a trip to the mall
Cameron was tough, cause I thought he would bawl
He sat there and smiled and didn't even care
That he was in reach of a 6 foot tall hare.
We went to the school as we do every year
Took not a picture, and shed not a tear.
Pres. Pence's house was a whole different story
I was out with my camera in all of my glory
I stalked the poor girls and was snapping away
I took tons of pictures, much to their dismay.
They gathered their eggs and had no time to waste
Except for Brooklyn, who paused for a taste...
Then the candy forgotten, they went down by the water
She caught this thing...
(Are we sure she's my daughter?!)
They went on the swings and made poor Aubrey push
A few minutes later, she was flat on her tush.
They rode on a tractor and a red paddle boat -
3 kids and just me (but I'm not one to gloat)
I demanded a picture where all 3 had a smile,
And I'm not gonna lie - we where there for a while.
Then it was time for the real Easter day
And ours was the best - I don't care what you say.
We woke bright and early and what a surprise...
We could hear something strange, it was soft little cries.
And out in our living room, what did we see...
It was three tiny chicks, just as cute as can be!
The girls were both smitten as I bet you can guess
But we found out real soon - these chicks make a mess!
We named them each - Jumper, well she jumps from up high
And then there is Flyer, who we think is a guy
Last there is Cutie, who's cuter than heck
But you have to be careful, cause she likes to peck.
The girls were in heaven, but Cam not so much
He didn't understand - he just wanted to touch!
We did have a hunt but it sure didn't last
It was back to the chicks and out into the grass
The day was so perfect, the grass was so green
And I was so lucky to witness the scene.
Cameron was able to get within range
Poor little chick - that probably felt strange
Later that morn, we found Aubrey in bed
With a chick (listening to every word that she said)
Brooklyn and Aubrey are both quite attached
To these sweet little chicks - we are glad that they hatched.
And though we had fun with our cute little birds
The best part of Easter was hearing the words.
We went to our church and learned about love
And about our Savior who was sent from above.
I'm grateful for Him and this great time of year
And how He is risen, and we can all cheer!
Happy Easter
Love,
Luke, Ashley, Brooklyn, Aubrey, Cameron, Jumper, Flyer, and Cutie

So cute Ashley. Isn't it fun to have a little guy now to put in argyle sweater vests for Easter Sunday? I love it. He's adorable. And I miss the girls! I laugh/"aw" every time I read their quotes on your side bar. I love them.
