Last week, our family turned into the cast of "Home Alone."
Here's the rundown:
The part of the child that was forgotten at home and completely abandoned by her parents while they were off waltzing around the Golden Coast was played by the lovely Brooklyn.
True to her role, she (most likely) spent her days of freedom eating huge bowls of ice cream, watching movies late into the night, and destroying (but then cleaning) every room in the house.
No burglars, though. So that was good.
The part of the crazy bird lady was owned by Aubrey.
It was an Oscar-worthy performance.
The part of two frazzled and frustrated parents was performed by Luke and I, who spent three days exploring house after house after house in preparation for our upcoming move to the Golden State.
Some were beautiful.
Some were not.
Some had a trailer park in their backyard.
And some had a trailer park in their front yard.
Some had graffiti on their outsides.
And some had graffiti on their insides.
Some had an infestation of lizards.
(Look closely - there is one basking in the sun on the carpet.)
(This is my mother throwing it out the door by it's tail. Yep.)
And some had other types of infestations.
Some were not our dream homes...
And one of them was.
We placed an offer on 3 of them and so far 2 have been sold.
Luckily for us, the last one standing is the one we really, really want. Unluckily for us, it's been 4 days and we haven't heard a peep. I'm trying to convince myself it's because our offer was so amazing that the bankers were rendered speechless and are still trying to regain their ability to think straight.
In the meantime, I'm wearing out the knees of my pants, slowly becoming and insomniac zombie, and almost going into cardiac arrest every time my phone rings.
Cameron, however, is doing just fine.

Ha ha! Ashley I am laughing so hard at these pics. The bathroom tub with a trailer park just out the window is my personal favorite but, it has a few close runner ups in there too. So funny!!! Good luck on the offer. That last house did look beautiful. Yea, for starting residency soon! Good luck with your new adventure.
hopefully you get your offer. It looks like a nice house!
