Washington DC

This summer we have been living in Washington DC while Luke is completing his internship with Senator Craig. We have loved it here, but we have also come to realize that we never want to live here!!

One thing that Luke has loved about his internship is the Senate softball team that he gets to be a part of. He gets to play on the lawn right in front of the Capitol Building. In his first game, he scored three home runs - I'm sure it's some kind of Senate record!

The worst thing about living here is the heat! It is so hot and humid everyday, but at least there are places around the city where we can wet our feet!!

The Smithsonian Museums have been some of our favorite things to see while we've been here. Seeing the "Puffy Shirt" from Seinfeld was a highlight for Luke.

We also loved going to Gettysburg. It was amazing to learn about the history of the Civil War and see some of the historical sights that make our country so wonderful!

Nauvoo

This summer has been a great experience for our family because we were able to see a lot of historical sights on our way to Washington DC. One of our favorite sights was Nauvoo where we spent 2 amazing days! While we were there we were also able to go to Carthadge Jail which is where we took the last picture.

Lori's Wedding

This summer has been an eventful one for our family. One exciting thing was the wedding of Luke's mom, Lori. We were able to fly home to Idaho Falls to be there and it was a beautiful day.

Brooklyn and Daddy

Luke and Brooklyn make such a cute pair! Brooklyn's always giving her daddy kisses, and finding a comfortable spot on his shoulders.

Luke and Brooklyn are world famous for their amazing balancing act. They practice everywhere they go, and so far they have a perfect record!

Brooklyn and Jake

This summer Brooklyn got to meet her cousin Jake for the first time. They got along great, and Brooklyn loved having someone her own size (sort of) to play with. Her favorite game to play with Jake was steal the pacifier and she was grateful to discover that there is someone who loves sleep as much as she does!

This summer we took Brooklyn to the beach for the first time. She loved playing in the water and helping bury Luke, but she could not figure out the sand!!

Lucas Leon Webb

Birthday: January 25th, 1983
Hobbies: Snowboarding, golf, gymnastics, flag football, softball, teaching Brooklyn new tricks.
Biggest Fear: Killing my wife in my sleep. (I woke up strangling her a few nights ago)
Hidden Talents: I can do a back flip from the ground onto a 3ft. high platform.
Fun Facts: I got hit by a car and had my head cracked open when I was 5.

Brooklyn Nicole Webb

Birthday: October 29th, 2006
Hobbies: Crawling, putting things in my mouth that don't belong there, taking showers (I scream when my parents try to get me out), making screeching sounds at the top of my lungs whenever I'm in public places, running away from my parents when they catch me climbing the stairs, and falling off the bed.
Biggest Fears: None whatsoever.
Hidden Talents: I can balance myself on my dad's hand and I can smile longer and bigger than anyone.
Fun Facts: I was supposed to be born on Halloween.
Lifetime Goal: To break the world record for shoving the most Capn' Crunch in my mouth at one time.

Ashley Christine Webb

Birthday: April 3rd, 1984
Hobbies: Scrapbooking, diving, gymnastics, camping, being outdoors, playing with Brooklyn, interior design, shopping, reading.

Hidden Talents: I can walk on my hands.
Fun Facts: I once broke a ride at Disney World.

8/24/16: Cameron to Ashley: "Your lover is home." "Are you going to the temple with your lover?" "Where did your lover go?" (He calls Luke my lover and it kills me every time.)
8/8/16: While saying the prayer the night before school started... Brooklyn: "...And please bless mom while she's home alone... all by herself... without anyone... while all of us are gone... that she won't cry. (Oh, I think I'll be JUST FINE, thankyouverymuch.)
3/7/16: Cameron: "Mom, does Heavenly Father like us?" Ashley: "Of course! He loves us." Cameron: "THEN WHY DID HE MAKE SPIDERS!?!"
12/4: At Walmart with Bailey and Cameron, Bailey started to get a little fussy and I said, "We'd better go. She's starting to have a melt-down." Cameron asked what that meant and I said it meant she was getting fussy and wanted to leave. Then... our checkout took FOREVER, and Cameron started to get very impatient. In the middle of his mini-tantrum he wined really loudly, "Moooooom. Can we just go?!? I'm melting - I'm MELTING!!!!"
12/2: Brooklyn to Cameron: "Do the kids at school ever call you names?" Cameron: "Yea, all the time." Brooklyn: "What do they call you?" Cameron: "Cameron."
12/1: I read Cameron a bedtime story about Christmas that ended with a line that said, "And that is why the greatest gift of Christmas is the gift of love." Cameron looked at me confused and said: "What? That's not the greatest gift of Christmas. Ashley: "It's not? What's the greatest gift of Christmas?" Cameron paused for a second and thought deeply and then answered, "Guns."
9/21/2015: Brooklyn: "I don't know if I want to be a mom. It seems sooooo hard. The only good part is that you get to stay up all night."
6/5/15: After buying the kids a treat at the store for being good and not hearing a "thank you" from them, I said to them all, "I think I need to hear a magic word right now....." Cameron thought for a minute and then excitedly exclaimed, "Oh! BAZINGA!!!!"
5/15/15: Cameron to the tattooed worker installing our countertop: "Hey. All those stamps on your arms make you look like you'll go to jail."
4/7/2015: Ashley: "Cameron, come here - I want to squeeze you to pieces and eat you right up!" Cameron (sincerely alarmed): "No!!!!! You can't! - JESUS MADE ME!!!!!!"
3/24/2015: Cameron was falling asleep in the car at about 5:00. Luke said to him, " Cameron, don't fall asleep." Cameron replied, " I'm not falling asleep. I'm just taking a little break from being awake."
3/18/2015: This morning when I woke up, Cameron was standing right by my bed and he looked like he had done something very wrong. (You know - the guilt face.) I asked what happend and he said very regretfully, "Mom........ Olivia married me." And I wasn't invited!?!??!
3/11/2015: While flying in an airplane, we hit some turbulance and Cameron announced loudly and extremely calmly: "Mom. We're not going to make it. We are all just going to die."
2/1/2015: Cameron was being more grumpy than usual one morning and kind of pouting in his room. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "I just HATE being so handsome!"
