Last year my Easter post was a big, huge, fat fail
But this year, our Dr. Seuss Easter was swell.
It started of early with a hunt through the house
The only thing missing was my super sweet spouse.
He had to work and we missed him so much
But by this point I'm used to just going dutch.
Bailey at first was unsure what to think
What is this round thing? Is it food? Is it drink?
But then she discovered the treasures inside
When I took them away she just pouted and cried.
There was even an egg with stuff that was wierd
It was not quite as tasty as it had appeared.
When every egg had been found
And we'd each gained a pound
Ready or not, for church we were bound.
Then our day went from great to a frustrating bad
When 2 hours in traffic left us all feeling sad
But eventually we made it to Grandma Smith's place
Where we had to, of course, just stuff our face!
Then another egg hunt was set up in the back
Where we were joined by animals who like to quack.
We took lots of pictures and loved on our cousins
And opened our eggs - there were dozens and dozens.
Then we headed home just feeling real glad
That we've been so blessed with a Heavenly Dad
And grateful for Jesus on this Easter day
Who saved us in every imaginable way.
