Have you ever thought to yourself, "why me?"
Because I have.
This week, I found the perfect job: designing children's rooms for an upscale little boutique right by our house.
Then I found out that it had been filled.
Then I got a call saying that it was open.
Then I went in for an interview and found out that by "designing children's rooms" the owner really meant, "sitting behind a desk and organizing my accounting statements and figuring out my taxes that I haven't paid in 4 years."
(side note: Dad - this lady asked me if I had taken any accounting classes in college!! Ha! I told her yes. And left it at that. :)
Why me?
Then I got a parking ticket for staying at the Science Center with my kids for 4 MINUTES too long!
Why me?
Then I applied for a job waitressing at the Cheesecake Factory.
You know, that classy, delicious, awesomely good restaurant where the waitresses make bank!?
Yea, that one.
I had the best interview of my life and was hired on the spot.
I had to turn it down the next day because they would not budge on their policy of required Sundays.
Why me?
Then I spent a morning snuggling in bed with Brooklyn who insisted that I scratch her back while we cuddle. I had two special little helpers assist me in making the biggest mess our kitchen has ever seen and a monkey bread catastrophe that should go down in the history books. I chased our girls around the backyard until one of them
stepped in dog poop and we had to call it a day. I got to go on a nature walk with our family and explain to Brooklyn why trees grow so tall and help Aubrey throw the rocks just far enough into the pond that they splash without getting her feet wet.
And all I can think is:
"Why me?"

Very cute post Ash...I hope someday I'll have experiences like that with Jake(except for maybe the poop on the shoe thing). Sorry about the job...it will work out somehow. :)
