Once There Was A Snowman

Once upon a time, there was a man who loved building snowmen.  He had a magical talent for building the most incredible snowmen and people would come from miles around to see his extraordinary creations.  The man, fearing that his snowman constructing formula would someday be lost forever, gathered his four sons around him and revealed his long-kept secrets.

One of his sons (the most handsome one), promised to keep the family snowman legacy alive and dedicated his young life to improving his snowman-building skills.

Eventually he grew into a man and became consumed by medical journals, tireless hours in countless rotations, an adoring family who loved him immensely, and a life that he was grateful for every single day.  Sadly, his promise of improving his snowman skills faded into the background of his simple and perfect life.

Until one day.

On a frigid, sunless morning in late January, that man walked to his window, stared out into the new-fallen snow, and decided then and there that today was the day.

He gathered his children, bundled them up, and marched them outside to their musical squeals of delight.  Their mother watched comfortably from the bedroom window.  (For a little while.)

The magical secrets that his father had taught him long ago came flooding back to him and he, in turn, shared them with his offspring.  Before long, they had created a masterpiece in honor of his beloved father.
It was a tribute worthy of him.
One that represented all the counseling, and teaching, and love that the old man had imparted.
And one that he would have really loved.

The end.

There are so many reasons why I love this post. 1.) the excellent writing 2.) the tribute to Lynn 3). the fact that Ash's snow woman is wearing the hat that Luke told me he thought Ashley looked cute in when he saw her wear it to their gym meeting back when they barely met. LOVE IT!

My tears are also flowing, that was such a sweet post. I am so happy to know how much happiness can exist in medical school too ha ha! Sometimes I get more horror stories than anything else!

You should write a book. Seriously. Any kind of book...children's fiction, or a novel....I'd buy it :)
