Before and After

I sometimes live in a fantasy world.
A world where I drive a hot pink jeep (always been a dream of mine), have the hottest tan ever, live in a sea-side mansion, and have a butler named Reginald Fartington who caters to my every whim.

But in real life, I drive a mini van, am butt white, reside in a shoe box, and the closest thing I have to a butler is my self-cleaning oven. (While I'm on the subject of self-cleaning ovens, last night Luke almost killed us all when he boiled something in a pot and forgot to add water. Smoke alarms... flames... the works. It was awesome. Oh, and it was while the oven was cleaning itself. See how I tied that in...?)

ANYWAY, in my little fantasy world, I have a nasty little habit of giving everything an imaginary make-over. And I have slowly but surely become obsessed with "Before and Afters."
I love when people get makeovers. I love when houses get remodeled. And I love seeing things more beautiful than they were before.

And somewhere in this category, I also love seeing the way my children change from year to year.
It's a "Before and After" all it's own.
And so, I am bringing to you for the first (but not the last) time, my very own edition of "Before and After."
(For the whole "before" post, click here.)

Oh, and just for the record, I love my life.
Someday I'll get a tan.
My shoe box is cozy.
And I think a butler would do nothing more than cramp my style.

Although the jeep I would take.

Love the name of the butler. In high school I used to joke that I would marry someone with the last name McFartswothy but, Fartington sounds like a good one too. Also, your girls are so beautiful. It makes me wish I had my girls closer together. Hope you are enjoying the iowa summer

Love, Love, Love this post! I totally remember when you took those pictures of your girls! What a fun "before" and "after"! Maybe I need to try to do something like that of my boys....Oh, did I mention that I'd love for you to take some more pictures of my kiddos? Are you tired of us yet? We'd love another try at family pics too...maybe after Kellen's done with his test, but we could try ones of the kids anytime.
