Since I have approximately 1 day, 10 hours, 27 minutes, and 43 seconds (not that I'm counting or anything...) until I am induced into labor, I fell like maybe I should attempt to document this pregnancy before it comes to a (hopefully) brief end.
So, here are some random and completely embarrassing and totally disjointed thoughts on pregnancy.
(By the way, you should know that I'm scared of maternity pictures. I guess I've just seen one-too-many stretch mark covered, pasty white enormous bare bellies "artistically" wrapped in flowing white cloth. I pictured my maternity pictures looking like this:)

or this...
or this...
and I wasn't about to have it.
But then, my friend, Christia Palizzi offered to take some of me and since she is wildly talented and completely awesome, I put aside my belly insecurities, and trusted her.
And she didn't disappoint.
(Peps in West Des Moines - look her up!!)
Now onto the random pregnancy tidbits...
*My record for the number of times I woke up to pee in a single night is 4.
*Went from an A to a C. All I'm sayin'. Figure it out.
*My daughters think they're pregnant too. Brooklyn has a loose-fitting shirt that she refers to as her "mommy shirt." It actually would make a darling maternity blouse.
I overheard Aubrey say from the other room a few nights ago, "Oooh - this baby is kicking me so hard!"
*My belly button is protruding. Didn't happen with #1 or #2 and was not in the least bit prepared for it to happen with #3. It still leaves me a little unsettled.
*Clothes that I used to be able to comfortably go camping in now fit me snuggly.
*This child thinks my bladder is a drum. And he's quite musically inclined.
*My feet have swollen to cartoon proportions and could easily be used as flotation devices in the case of emergency. (These are the feet of the 400 lb. lady who lives next door to me. These are NOT my feet.
OK; yes they are.)
OK; yes they are.)
*I threw up 6 times.
(7 if you count me throwing up in a Ziploc bag in the back of our car 30 minutes into our 25 hour car trip home. I'm not sure if this was pregnancy induced or not, so count it if you'd like.)
TMI? Yep.
*My marvelous friend Chelsea threw me the sweetest and most delicious baby shower ever. We had so much fun talking that we forgot to take a picture until almost everyone had left.
But don't worry - we didn't forget to recreate the awkward belly rub picture.
Thank. goodness.
* Even though this pregnancy has had it's moments (see entire post), it's been great. I can't believe I have less than one day of being pregnant left. After 9 months of painful waiting, it's shocking how quickly this day has snuck up on me.
*One final tidbit: this child is already loved more than he will ever know.
We can't wait to meet him.
