We are building a house.
It's amazing. And stressful. And surreal. And madness. And a TOTAL blessing.
For Spring Break, we headed up to Idaho to check on it.
But the night before we left, Bailey was posessed and stayed up till 2am poking our faces and making us her very own semi-sleeping jungle gyms. We knew it wouldn't be pretty.
We went to the airport and boarded our airplane and got pulled out to the runway and then the pilot came on the loudspeaker and announced that while they were towing us out, a part had snapped off the plane and we had to get off + wait for 4 hours + try again.
Oy Vey.
Eventually we made it to Idaho and drove to our little hole in the ground to check it out. We are literally giddy over this future home. It was 12 degrees (OK, 40. But it felt more like 12.) and look at those smiling faces.
Look. at. them.
Quick facts: We are living on the cutest, sweetest street + We have THE nicest neighbors ever + There are about 395 kids on our block + We have a community pool/tennis courts/walking trails + The sunsets sometimes look like this...
Plus, there are not any better dirt piles than the ones they are using to build our house with.
Top quality dirt right here, people.
On one of the days we went to visit the house, the workers were there pouring and smoothing out the concrete. So we begged and pleaded and bribed them into lowering us one-by-one down a ladder and leaving our hand prints. (This is the corner of our cold storage room, so it'll never be covered up. ) Is it wrong that I totally love Bailey's little smeared/imperfect fist bump which we had her practice in the dirt 17 times and then she totally messed up when she actually did it? Like, I adore it. It's just so her. And I plan on going into our cold storage room every day and just staring at it and crying over how big she's getting while eating a whole pack of chocolate chips by myself.
Alright. Moving on...
We also managed to have a little bit of fun while we there including
Beautiful days in the Idaho sun +
snuggle time with cousins +
trampoline park fun +
visits to Grandpa Matt +
playtime with more cousins +
selfie lessons from Aunt Chelsey +
movie time with the Beauties +
one AWESOME vacation.
