Last weekend was the start of the Idaho Falls Parade of Homes and I can easily say that I have NEVER been more
exhausted + proud + tired + happy + grateful
for this experience and everyone who came along for the ride.
My sweet angel mother flew out to help me and when I say that I couldn't have done it without her, what I really mean is:
I. COULD. NOT. HAVE. DONE. IT. WITHOUT. HER.
We had 5 days to decorate the entire house (and we still had painters + tilers + electricians + plumbers + landscapers + installers + builders all over the place). I was in straight panic mode until I picked her up from the airport. I looked over at her and was like, "We're good." Seriously. If you don't know her personally, well you should. But you should also know that she makes Wonder Woman look like the laziest, wimpiest, weakest woman on the planet. No contest.
And somehow (even with 4 hours of sleep per night over a 5 day period - and that's not an exageration.), we seriously had so much fun.
Like, SOOOOOO much fun.
(Except the time that we decided to paint a piano at 11:30pm and didn't finish till 3:30am. That was the only not fun part. Actually, even that was kind of fun.)
How I never took a single picture from that entire time is so beyond me.
I'm gonna blame the sleep deprivation for that one.
My favorite thing about the Parade is that we had so many sweet family members and friends come visit. My mom + dad + sisters + brothers + sister-in-laws + cousins + Aunt's + Luke's extended family members + my amazing girl friends from California + so many others.
The support we received was unreal.
UN. REAL.
For reals.
I hadn't seen two of these girls for more than a year (since they graduated from Residency a year before we did). I seriously bawled and ran down the street like a crazy person when they showed up.
Gonna blame the sleep deprivation for that one, too.
We had the best time exploring every square inch of the house +
cuddling on the porch swing +
exploring 2 other Parade Houses +
touring the town +
belting Celine Dion out the top of the rental car sunroof +
+ having the actual GREATEST TIME OF MY LIFE.
Oh, and did I mention...
We won
President's Award
+
Decorator's Award
+
Builder's Award
+
People's Choice Award
(Basically, all the awards.)
I will never, ever, for as long as I live on this earth forget this weekend.
And I am grateful I got to share it with my favorite people.
