It started with 3.
Then Squeaky had a mysterious violent accident, was carried out to the trash in a paper sack, and then there were 2.
And the two were happy and lived a comfortable life in the palm of Aubrey's hand.
And then the evil mommy decided it was time for them to go.
It was a combination of smell, an attempted escape by Fred (who's the "mommy"), and getting peed on by Trampoline while the Home Teachers were over.
(This sneaky little guy crawled up the stick, onto the fake plant and up on the ledge completely on his own. Just about gave me a heart attack too.)
And so on Sunday, we unceremoniously walked them over to a pond near our house, put them in the weeds, and walked away.

It was a sad moment.
For some of us.
And as we walked home to the sound of whimpers and quiet crying, it almost broke my heart.
Until we found a pile of leaves.

For a while we were still a little sad...
and then we got over it.

And by the time we left (running as fast as possible in a stroller while getting rained on), the frogs were forgotten and it had been a beautiful day.
And just between us,
it is possible that I did a celebration dance that night in my living room once the kids were asleep.
It was a good day indeed.
