Lions, Peacocks, and Donuts. Oh my.

This week I turned 30.  Which pretty much feels like 29.  I remember when I was young my mom turned 30 and I thought she was absolutely the oldest person left remaining on God's green earth.  And now I'm 30.  Plus... (sit down for this one).... I'm getting braces soon.
So I'll be 30, but look like I'm 17.
So.... yay. ?
For my birthday, Layla made her daily appearance + pooped on my rug + kind of stalked my kids.
Luke led the girls in some living room gymnastics, which Cameron hijacked by running back and forth across the mat while Aubrey was flipping.  Kind of like a game of dodge-ball, except it's dodge-girl.  It's a strangely entertaining little game.  The next Olympic sport, I say.
Our living room session eventually moved to the backyard where Brooklyn resumed her every-day-ritual of being a tiger and protecting her young from any predators. + growling at us all (except me since I was the birthday girl).
The rest of us enjoyed tackling Cameron, tickling Aubrey, and crapping our pants at Luke's cirque du soleil moves (which included a Luke/Cameron back flip).
I also got to meet up with some friends at a park and enjoy some birthday donuts which are delicious until you eat an entire dozen in one day and then you never want to see another donut for as long as you freakin' live.
I also got spoiled by the husband with a new camera body (the Canon 60D!!!) that I've wanted since forever.
It is a beautiful specimen and I'm beyond thrilled to get my hands all over it's body. (That goes for the camera, too.)
It was a wonderful birthday
and a wonderful weekend
and a wonderful year.
