Nauvoo (well... half of it.)

Britt and I were brave this week. OK, no we weren't.
We were stupid this week.
We decided to take the 3 kids by ourselves to Nauvoo.
Nauvoo - you know the little town with a temple (that kids can't go into), the 200 year old houses (that the kids have to walk through without strollers), and the perfectly preserved historical buildings (where the kids can't touch anything).
Despite it all, we still managed to have fun.
The second (and I mean the very second) that we stepped out of the car after a 3 1/2 hr. drive, it started to pour. We were so tired of driving that we didn't even care. So I got the camera out to start snapping away and quickly realize that I have NO SD CARD IN MY CAMERA!!! I had taken it out right before we left to get all the pictures off and I never put it back in the camera. I was heartbroken.

The next day as I was checking out of our hotel, I noticed a little table in the front lobby with toothbrushes, shampoo, deodorant, and... a random SD card still in the package! I snatched it up (after paying for it, of course) and off we were on our little adventure that now we can remember forever!

I hope you appreciate these pictures because they really are priceless.
(Actually they cost $15.)

Are we having fun yet?
No.
I love to see the temple.
I REALLY love to see the temple...

One of my favorite parts of Nauvoo was seeing the Joseph Smith movie at the visitor's center. The girls were so tired that they both fell asleep within minutes and just slept peacefully on my lap for a good hour. The last time they did that, they were about 6 hours old. The movie was amazing. I can't even describe it. Brooklyn woke up to see tears streaming down my face and was thoroughly confused and very concerned.
"Mommy? You sad?" she whispered.
"No, Brooklyn. I'm happy." I told her.
She looked at me for a second and then gave me a hug and said,
"No, mommy. You're sad."

I promise, Brooklyn.
I'm happy.

Adorable pictures! Well at least you weren't the first one to forget an SD card obviously, or they wouldn't be selling them! I love the pic of the two girls in the grass in front of the temple, it is adorable! I also love Brooklyns innocent face while looking at the nauvoo temple replica. So glad you got to take pics!
