'Twas a Few Days Before Christmas...

...and all through our house 

one creature was stirring - and it wasn't a mouse. 

Brooklyn was walking around and taking great care

But she barfed on the floor (and all in her hair).

We got her back nestled all snug in her bed

While visions of sickness swirled in my head.

The next day was the Program, she'd worked on so long

But Aubrey was the only one singing her songs.
 

Then a special visitor came to the show, 

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow.

His eyes - how the twinkled!  His dimples how merry!

But for some reason Aubrey looked naughty - yes, very!

A few nights later, we made houses of sweets
The kids gorged themselves and ate too many treats.

Then to the mall, like the reindeer we flew
Saw Santa again, and rode the train too.

Then in front of the tree, some cute pictures we took,
Cameron was cute, but the girls wouldn't look.


Some more Christmas parties made the season so great.
When the day finally came, it was so hard to wait.


We spent Christmas Eve with some friends that are dear.
The nativity was the high-light of my year.

Mary was darling and the wiseman look spiffy
But baby Jesus just thought that the whole thing was iffy.
 

Minute-to-win-it was the next thing we did

I have hilarious pictures; that my friends have forbid.

The boys showed us their moves and we laughed till we cried, 

It's a good thing we're close or I might have just died.

 

The next morning was Christmas, we woke so excited

The presents were stacked and the kids were delighted.

 

Brooklyn got cheese puffs, a scarf, and earings, 

a talking baby duck, and some other cool things.

Aubrey was thrilled with her boots and stuffed dog, 

She got too many games to record on this blog.

Cameron was a happy boy too, you should know

Not 'cause his new chair, but because of it's bow!

But perhaps the happiest one was the dad, 

because Santa brought him a brand new iPad!

And Ashley was spoiled well too, don't you fret

This Christmas will never be beat, you can bet.
